When you are a minister, you want to make sure that you inspire those you are preaching to. At times, this may mean that you need to get creative if you really want to touch their heart.
Perhaps that is what the minister in the following joke had in mind when he started telling a story. He wanted to teach his parishioners one thing but as it turns out, he ended up learning a lesson.
This is a lesson that all of us can learn and if we don’t do it now, we are going to learn it at some point in life. Fortunately, it comes in the form of a joke that will also keep you laughing.
A minister decided that a visual demonstration would add emphasis to his Sunday sermon.
Three worms were placed into separate jars.
The first worm was put into a jar of alcohol.
The second worm was put into a jar of cigarette smoke.
The third worm was put into a jar of good, clean soil.
At the conclusion of the sermon, the minister reported the following results:
The first worm in alcohol – DEAD.
The second worm in cigarette smoke – DEAD.
The third worm in good, clean soil – ALIVE.
So the minister asked the congregation, “What can you learn from this demonstration?”
A little old woman in the back quickly raised her hand and said, “As long as you drink and smoke, you won’t have worms!”
