Meet Elif Bilgin, the teenage girl who invented a bio-plastic that uses banana peels, instead of the traditional petroleum sources. Below is the video of her very inspiring story.
Bilgin, 16, a student of Koc High School in of Istanbul, Turkey won $50,000 at the 2013 Science in Action contest, which is part of the third annual Google Science Fair.
According to her, she failed many times in her experiment, and has finally succeeded after two years. Her invention can be used in manufacturing cosmetic prosthesis and cable insulators.
