A sea turtle was found on a beach in Israel, with its two left flippers severely injured after being trapped in a net. Luckily, a student designed a prosthetic fin for him.
The injured sea turtle was kept at the Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in Michmoret. It was named Hofesh, which means Freedom. Unfortunately, the flippers had to be amputated.
Four years later, Israeli student Shlomi Gez learned about the sea turtle and offered his help.
Gez created a prosthetic fin, inspired by the Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor jet.
Genius with a heart!
