Of course, these tests are usually flawed, which is why they are never admissible in court, but they can be an excellent tool to ensure people are nervous enough to come clean. The dad in this story thought it might be fun to hook his son up to their new lie detector, only to discover that the truth sometimes comes at a high cost.
A father buys a lie detector robot that slaps people when they lie.
He decides to test it out at dinner one night. The father asks his son what he did that afternoon.

Dad asks, “What movie did you watch?”

Mom laughs and says, “Well, he certainly is your son.”
