Some of her most memorable acting roles include The Sound of Music and Mary Poppins. Even more recently, she has done acting in modern-day films and has worked as a director as well.
Some of her more iconic songs, such as Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and Spoonful of Sugar were sung by our parents and they’re still being sung today.
Julie Andrews was born in the 30s, grew up throughout the 50s and 60s and is now living her life in the 21st century. She never fails to give her fans a treat when the cameras are rolling.
Although she has played in a number of iconic films, her role in Mary Poppins is one that will likely be remembered for ages. Between her personality and music, it was a role that no one will forget. She even won an Academy award for her part in the film!
Only one year later, in 1965, The Sound of Music was made. She won the Golden Globe for best actress in a musical.
In 2000, she again proved herself to be an iconic actress for her role in The Princess Diaries. Yet another generation was being touched by her work.
It doesn’t appear as if Andrews is finished yet. She has played roles in animated films, such as Despicable Me and Shrek.
