Jordan Jacobs is a 21-year-old man who went on a solo vacation a few weeks ago to Thailand. He called his mother while he was traveling, using a stranger’s phone to tell his mum that a strange man had been following him.
His mother told reporters that she recognized something was wrong, saying she heard terror in his voice. Her son continued to tell her what had happened during that phone conversation. Jordan said the Thai man would not leave him alone and that he wasn’t going to let him leave the country.
The flight Jordan had scheduled to bring him home returned to Lyneham, England last week. Jordan was not on the flight.
Jordan had been flying between the islands of Phi Phi while he was staying in Thailand. He was on a budget vacation so he only took free flights, unless it was necessary to do otherwise. His hotel accommodations were also either with inexpensive hotels or free hostels.
At one point, Jordan was traveling with a back packing crew but when a local Thai man had offered to give him a free tour of a farm where he worked, Jordan left the crew. Jordan said the man was in his late 20s and claimed to have worked on a farm in Ko Phi Phi Don.
It is unclear if this is the same man that Jordan said he was afraid of. He had a limited amount of time to talk with him mum on the phone. His last known location was at the PP Restaurant in Ko Phi Phi Don. It was at the restaurant where Jordan found a Cypriot tourist who let him use his cell phone. The tourist was contacted and said Jordan had no bag or shoes.
His sister, Emily, was understandably worried. She had chatted briefly with her brother through Facebook Messenger. When she asked if he was OK, his response was frightening. He said:
“I’ve said too much. I can’t talk. I love you.”
Emily posted his message on Facebook, worried that something was horribly wrong. She begged anyone who had any information about Jordan to come forward.
The original post has been shared thousands of times and contact has already been established with a few travelers from across the globe. Those travelers are claiming to have seen Jordan in Thailand while they were also in the country. As of this point, nobody has seen him after he spoke using the stranger’s cell phone.
Jordan’s sister is asking for any additional information that could help her family to locate her brother.
“Any information no matter how small you think it is could be huge. Any sightings or potential sightings. Any contact. Anything. We want to have him home safe.”
