Eating Bacon Is As Likely to Give You Cancer As Smoking!

Ever since I was a young child, I have loved the smell of bacon cooking. In fact, anytime I could smell it coming from the kitchen, I was the first one to the breakfast table. Now that I am older, I eat bacon regularly and as far as I’m concerned, it enhances the taste of any food!

That is why I was so bummed out when I heard the news about processed meats, including bacon. According to findings by the World Health Organization, processed meat is among the most deadly problems for humans and these findings come from, not one location, but from 10 different nations, including the UK!

Although the news is depressing for those of us who enjoy bacon regularly, it is not the only food targeted by this source. The WHO also speaks about sausages and hamburgers as being harmful to our health as well.

Admittedly, most of us knew that these types of foods were not the healthiest option available. That is why it is always a good idea to eat anything in moderation. Going overboard with bacon, burgers or any other food that is considered unhealthy is obviously going to cause health problems!

When you think of something that causes cancer, more than likely your thoughts go directly to smoking cigarettes. That is, of course, unless you regularly hang out outside of radiation rooms at the hospital! The World Health Organization is going to rank processed meats right up there with cigarettes and alcohol, and it will rank in the top five as a source of cancer in humans.

What type of an impact can you expect from this announcement? For one thing, there may eventually be warning labels put on packs of bacon found at the supermarket, similar to what you might see on a pack of cigarettes. You can also envision special interest groups trying to outlaw bacon, making it so that there are black-market bacon dealers selling bacon bits and BLTs on street corners around the world!

Well, hopefully it will not come to that!

For now, it might be a good idea for us to brace ourselves for the possibility that bacon will not be a regular part of our weekend breakfasts. RIP bacon… We will miss you.
