Although you may never have heard of Jim Russell before, he is somebody that will likely stay on your mind from this point forward. It was on May 20 that he showed up in the hospital and surprised his wife, Eleanor, with flowers and chocolate. It was their 57th anniversary.
Throughout the years, Jim and Eleanor have kept their anniversaries fairly quiet, but he decided to do something to make the celebration special. She had been hospitalized for the past month, and he marked the occasion of their anniversary by showing up in a tuxedo.
These two eloped after he served in World War II and even many years after they have been married, he still refers to her as “my bride.”
Fortunately, the granddaughter was able to capture the anniversary surprise and it is going viral on Twitter.

After presenting Eleanor with the chocolate and flowers, they dined together and watched wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, their favourite TV shows.
It really doesn’t take much to make us happy in life, provided we put the thought into it and spend quality time with the ones we love.
