Your home is an expression of who you are, which is why most people personalize their living space with art and decor they love. Sure, you could take a trip to the furniture store and buy something you like…or you could make something yourself.
A DIY-savvy father and son duo took this idea to a whole new level and created the coolest set of bookshelves I’ve ever seen. Using only blonde wood, available at most hardware stores, they designed swirling, twisted bookshelves for their living room. Check out the photos below.
The finished product looks amazing.
First they cut the face panels, a.k.a. the panels that give the shelves it’s twisted look.
Then they cut the shelves.
Here are all of the pieces for one bookshelf, including two face panels, two base panels for the back of the shelf, and the shelves.
They glued the shelves to the base panels, using clamps to keep the shelves in place.
Then they attached the face panels.
It’s ready to be stained!
They used two coats of stain and three coats of a clear sealer to finish the shelves.
Home is where the heart is, and filling your house with awesome DIY furniture is a great way to make it feel cozy and personalized. Even if woodworking isn’t your forte, hopefully this family duo has inspired you to get crafty with your decor.
