Uncle Si’s Daughter won her first political office – Place 4 on the Hurst City Council.
Trasa Robertson Cobern, daughter of Uncle Si, the loved uncle on the Duck Dynasty show was able to claim 73% of the vote, a decisive win over senior analyst Jeff Childers’ 36%. She was able to stay in the lead all night.
Cobern, 40, is a history teacher at Euless Trinity High School. In this election, both she and Childers were running to replace Anna Holzer, a longtime incumbent. She was not seeking re-election.
After the votes were posted, Cobern had the following to say:
I am just humbled by the amount of people who have helped me out during this whole process. I think I’ve proven that I can get along well and work with our current council.
Cobern feels that focusing on issues important to the family was her key to success.
