Did You Know That A Small Island In Scotland Has More Mini Ponies Than The Human Population?

Like many people, you probably enjoy getting away for vacation and finding someplace new and interesting to visit. Although you certainly do have a world full of choices, one that you definitely would not want to take off of the list is the island of Foula. In fact, this just may be the best kept secret in Britain!

One of the reasons why Foula is such a wonderful place to visit is because it is a remote island, so it is untouched in many ways by modern society. In fact, only about 30 people live on the island! What is even more remarkable; however, are the hundreds of ponies that call the island home. When you see them on the grassy knolls and craggy cliffs, you will not believe the beauty.

Foula is part of the Shetland Islands off the coast of Scotland. Try to make a visit during the mild weather and you can get on the ferry to get there from the mainland. You can also fly, as flights travel to the island a few times per week.

You can rent a cottage or a room at the bed-and-breakfast when you are there. Be sure to explore the coastline, as you will be able to see plenty of birds and even some killer whales. Take some time to relax and chat with the locals.
