Charlotte was just a 17-month-old girl when her mother, Catherine Svilicic, was watching her play in the yard with their Doberman, Kahn. Prior to the time that they adopted Kahn, he was abused by a previous owner and he had only been with this family for four days.
The dog and the little girl seemed to get along quite well, but then Kahn did something that took everybody by surprise.
Suddenly, the Doberman got aggressive and started pushing Charlotte around. He then grabbed the toddler by the diaper and threw her across the yard.
The mother was horrified but then she realized what was taking place. The dog had seen a poisonous snake and what seemed to be a violent action was actually saving her life.
Charlotte was removed from the area with only moments to spare. Kahn was bitten by the snake but fortunately, he recovered after getting an anti-venom shot.
If it wouldn’t have been for this brave dog, the snake may have bitten Charlotte instead. Kahn may only have been part of the family for a few days but he is a genuine hero and he put his life on the line for them.
It looks like this wonderful dog has found his forever home.
