He Was Hungover And Went For Fish & Chips But When He Posted It, The Restaurant Went VIRAL

It doesn’t matter who we are, we all have a dream. Some of us refer to them as being something on our bucket list while others consider it to be a short or long-term goal. It doesn’t matter what you call it, however, they can be quite elusive for many of us.

There are times, however, when dreams do come true and that may take place because we work hard or because of a random event that pushes us into the limelight. That was the case for a man in Lethbridge, Alberta who owned Whitbie’s fish and chips.

His dream came true due to an unexpected Facebook post

1

Colin Ross was a laid-off oil worker and he was looking for a bite to eat. That is when he found Whitbie’s. Although he had never been there before, some fish and chips seemed like the perfect meal for a guy with a hangover.

2

Once he was inside the restaurant, he met John McMillan, a 70-year-old Scottish immigrant who had a dream to own a fish and chip shop.

He had come to Canada seven years earlier and opened his own restaurant but things were not going well.

3

Colin made conversation, talked about the business and found out that things were very slow and the restaurant was failing. The owner hadn’t even paid himself for the past three months because money was tight.

That is one Colin had an idea.

4

He posted a message on Facebook it was shared close to 9000 times

5

He even shared a picture of his meal

6

When John came in to work the next day, more than 400 people had packed the restaurant and the next day, it was 500.

John was overwhelmed with the response. He hadn’t asked for help but he was shocked with how much support he received.

7

Nobody knew that Whitbie’s was there because it was in a bad location but after coming to help save his business, they’ll be back. The fish really is that good.

8

John feels quite happy that a man took time to ask for help on his behalf.
