Her Son Needs A Man For This Dads-Only Event So His Single Mum Shows Up Dressed Like A Man

In some areas, it is customary for fathers and sons to get together for very specific events. These events are “men only” and they have been a part of schools and other institutions for many years. The only problem is, the traditional family has changed in recent years and today, there is not always a male figure in the young son’s life. That didn’t stop this mother, however, from doing what she could to make a difference.

Her name is Yevette, and she is a single mother who wanted to ensure that her son was able to go to the special event. It was a doughnuts with dad event and the students and fathers shared doughnuts along with good conversation. Since she was a single mother, she decided to dress up like a man and share this experience with him.

Many people would be a bit uncomfortable with being in this situation, but Yevette realised it was important to her son to take part. We applaud her efforts in making sure that he did not miss out on something that was important to him.

Yevette Vasquez is a single mother from Fort Worth, Texas.

Elijah, her son, is her son.

2

She was dropping Elijah at school in the morning and noticed there were a lot more cars than usual. Something was going on at school that day.

3

Her son told her that it was a “doughnuts with dad” meet up where students and fathers got together to enjoy breakfast.

Although she was a single mum, she didn’t want him to miss out on the event

She turned the car around and changed her outfit to look like a dad. It included a baseball hat, plaid shirt, baggy pants and a mustache. They took a selfie before heading into school.

“Good morning, today at my son Elijah’s skewl as I was dropping him off i ask him why there was so many cars… He said Doughnuts with Dad, so we quickly went back home cause I wasn’t about to let him miss out….. I know seeing other dads with there kids isn’t easy for mine but its life, at least I can do whatever it takes to put a smile on that face, so here it goes….. and please don’t hate I know I’m a woman an so do my sons lol #ilovehim #wegettingthemdoughnuts #noexcuses”
