Rick Hoyt was born in 1962 and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at birth. In 1977, Team Hoyt was established upon the request of Rick to his dad.
The Dick & Rick Hoyt duo started completing numerous marathons together, with Dick pushing Rick in his wheelchair. They also competed in triathlons, and biked across the US in 1992.
Their last run was the 2014 Boston Marathon, their 32nd Boston Marathon. Dick was 74, Rick was 52.
