In 2013, after recently marrying Mark Bignell, Dawn French opened up about her dating life after the ending of her 25-year-marriage to Lenny Henry. She revealed how she felt “foolish” trying to flirt with men.

During an interview with Good Housekeeping, the Vicar of Dibley star said:
“It felt like being foolish! I’ve never been very good at flirting, at being coy or game-playing.
“But that is somehow necessary when you first meet people. I wasn’t really looking, though, and decided life was easier without any of that.”

The comedian revealed that it was exactly a reason she wasn’t looking for that made her realize Mark was the man for her.
“I’d met him many times before but hadn’t been looking as I was married,” she revealed.
“And then I suddenly saw him in a completely new light when I event to do some research at his work. And I thought gosh, he’s nice.”

Dawn also admitted that she was back in the “big pants” stage of her relationship after a period of wearing tighter, less comfortable underwear.
“That’s the awful thing about dating – tight underwear,” she revealed in an Australian interview.
“We would all like to be in a big bra and pants and when you are in a secure relationship you can do that.
“Now I’m in the big pants again.
“I’m in a happy relationship. I’m in the Bridget Jones’s.”

And it’s not just the big pants Dawn admitted to. She also shared her guilty pleasure of watching Keeping Up With the Kardashians.
“I watch schlock telly. Like the Kardashians. I love it. It’s my guilty pleasure. My other guilty pleasure is a pasty. I try not to have them as much as I did. But it’s still the most delightful thing.”
Mark, who had been married twice before, works as the chief executive of a charity that helps people suffering from alcohol and drug abuse. Dawn previously described Mark as “my anchor, my one true love.”
