Mother Spends 11 Hours Rescuing Baby Elephant Stuck in Well
A mother elephant and her baby had a horrible time when the baby elephant fell into a well. The mother tried for several hours to pull her baby out, first with her trunk and then with the feet. She tried all night, but she accidentally pushed more mud in the hole, almost smothering the baby. Eventually the villagers heard in the morning the distressed cries of the mother elephant and came to the rescue.
Jitendra Tiwari, who taped the video and helped with the rescue, said: ‘We chopped off a few banana trucks and put it near the well so that the mother elephant moved away for sometime. The plan worked.’
