Raju the elephant is now free, after being held in chains and abused for 50 years. Below is the video of the emotional rescue of the poor elephant.
According to Wildlife SOS, which rescued Raju on July 4, 2014, the animal was forced to work as a begging elephant in Allahabad, India. His foot had spike chains throughout his life, 24 hours a day.
The rescue operation was made at night, so only a few people would notice them. The elephant cried for joy when he was finally set free.
