The black Fox is the rarest animal in Britain but it has been spotted recently in North Yorkshire. In fact, the animal was captured on camera!
After being alerted to the fact that a fox was on the prowl in the area, Robert Fuller took a closer look and discovered that it was a black fox. As it turns out, he is a wildlife photographer and he started to take pictures of this rare animal to document the fact that it was in the area.
A fox will typically turn a reddish color as it matures but in rare cases, the fur will stay black. This has led to over-harvesting of the animals for its fur, which makes them an even rarer find.
In medieval times, a black fox was considered to be a bad omen. In fact, many people still have a similar thought today about black cats, thinking that it can be “bad luck” if they cross your path
A black Fox is more common in the United States and elsewhere in North America but in England, they are exceedingly rare. Although we may never be able to spot one of these in the UK personally, we can certainly enjoy the pictures that this wildlife photographer took.
