All of us could use a helping hand from time to time. Obviously, this young lad was willing to lend a helping hand when he found a blind deer that was unable to care for itself.
The situation was first noticed by a Reddit user who saw the 10-year-old boy helping the deer around the neighborhood on a daily basis. According to the Reddit user, he would meet the deer every morning before school and lead it from one grass patch to another so it had plenty to eat.
As you can imagine, having a blind deer in an area where people and domestic animals live could be rather dangerous. Not only is it possible for the deer to harm someone else in the area, it could also be struck by a car.
The boy didn’t leave things to cance and he went to a wildlife rescue organization on a regular basis to see if something could be done. Fortunately, they took action as well.
According to the rescue group, they do have a vet on staff and the deer was being picked up on that day so that they could live our his life on a wildlife preserve. Up until this time, the deer was being fed by people in the neighborhood, who would leave food outside for it.
Rather than being upset over the situation, the young boy was actually relieved that the deer was in a safe location. It may soon be possible for him to visit the deer at the wildlife preserve, as the Reddit user and his wife are saving up for a trip.
Apparently, this young lad is not only compassionate to animals, he has a way with people as well. According to a statement by the Reddit user, the deer was safe, the boy was happy and everyone was relieved!
