When it comes to exercise, it is difficult to top what yoga brings to the table. Not only is it great for the mind and body, it has been around for thousands of years. It is that track record that really interests people, and those who practice yoga claim that it is able to change them and make them a better person.
Something else that many people enjoy is beer, and it seems as if these two loves have now married together to form something that is better than either of them. Not only is beer yoga a popular pastime, it has gone international and people around the world are really taking off with this awesome form of exercise.
According to the founder of this form of exercise, “BeerYoga is fun but it’s no joke. We take the philosophies of yoga and pair it with the pleasure of beer-drinking to reach your highest level of consciousness.”
Even though she is best known for this exercise, she wasn’t the first one to talk about doing yoga while under the influence of alcohol. It was first seen done at an American culture Festival, known as Burning Man.
Regardless of its origin, it is now taking root and it has even reached the shores of Australia.
Beeryoga will have two different sessions in Sydney, teaching students to do yoga poses that involve “beer salutations.” They will also be balancing beer bottles on their heads.
According to the event page, it is not necessary to have any yoga experience. All you need is an “open mind and a love of beer.”
If this doesn’t appeal to you, you can always avoid the event but regardless, it is certain to be something to see.
