Adoption agencies are looking for adults to cuddle baby. They will be known as “interm caregivers.”
Spence-Chapin, an adoption agency, has already started such a caregiver program. According to the terms of the program, the caregivers are to provide the newborn with all of the love and attention they need while arrangements are made for their eventual adoption.
According to Adam Pertman, president of the National Center on Adoption and Permanency:
“All agencies over the years have certainly needed volunteers, But the need has grown. Volunteers have become more and more essential.”
