When you are a parent, you are always going to have to deal with people having an opinion. Sometimes, the person that has an opinion is a member of your own family.
Britney Spears is someone who knows this very well and her son Jayden had recently remarked about how his mother struggled to love her children. It happened when some of her children sat down for an interview on ITV news.
Interestingly, they had a lot to say about their mother and they weren’t afraid to come out and really voice their opinions. This is true of Jayden, who had a strong opinion about his 40-year-old mother.
He said: “I think mom has struggled [to give] us both attention and showing us equal love and I don’t think she showed enough to Preston and I feel really bad for that.”
“We’ve both been through so much pressure in the past that this is our safe place now, to process all the emotional trauma we’ve been through to heal, heal our mental state,” he added.
The father, her ex-husband said that they have not seen her in months. Some of the brothers explained that their mother was constantly in the spotlight and that was difficult for her.
Although the issues certainly do exist, that doesn’t mean that they feel that the damage is irreparable.
“It’s just going to take a lot of time and effort,” he said. “I just want her to get better mentally. When she gets better I really want to see her again.”
Jayden even said that he loved her a lot and hoped that they could sit down and talk once again.
Spears came on Instagram with a response.
She wrote: “I’ve tried my best at being the best person I can be.”
“Finally at 40 without the restraints of what my family did to me… I say to my son Jayden that I send all the love in the world to you every day for the rest of my life!!!!
“My love for my children has boundaries and it deeply saddens me to know his outcry of saying I wasn’t up his expectations of a mother… and maybe one day we can meet face to face and talk about this openly!!!!” she wrote. “Maybe dear child YOU can explain why our family would do that to anyone!!!”
She also wanted her children to remember where they came from, saying: “I hope you can look in the mirror and remember… you are my child and always will be. Since Preston didn’t speak, I send my love.”
