Dad Built A Royal Bed Frame For His Little Princess

There are always little girls whose ultimate dream is to live in a fairy tale pink palace with all the royal items in it. The only problem is that this kind of setups can cost a hefty amount of money; however, one handy daddy who is very skillful with wood took it upon himself to make his daughter dream come true by building the most amazing bed frame with tall towers, a lofted mattress and a hidden compartment for her toys and books. Even as an adult, I feel like I could use this awesome piece of furniture. I am totally convinced that this dad deserved some kind of award, be knighted or even crowned. Here are the instructions if you are you the the challenge.

 The main frame of the bed and the details were made out of maple plywood.

First he built the decorative front of the castle.

The towers aren’t just there for the look; they serve as shelves to hold books and toys.

They would also hold the mattress up.

Here, you can see him connecting the towers to the face of the castle.

Then he started building the sides.

Here’s the entirely assembled frame.

Here, you can see the slats for the mattress.

Before adding the paint, he sanded it down.

To paint, he took the frame apart.

The finished frame featured pretty pink details.

When it was finished, it was the coolest kid’s bed ever.

The inside features a toy storage area.

The ladder provides easy access to the mattress.
