There certainly has been a lot of debate on what goes into keeping a child on the right path and helping them to have a bright future. Some look to a multiple intelligences theory, stating there are 8 different types of intelligence. On the other hand, there is also the acorn theory, which states that each child has their own potential.

Regardless of why children are different, we all want children to be healthy and happy. It is something parents look for in their own children, but how can they have the best impact on their lives? Perhaps we should look at these factors.

Linguistic Factors

Linguistic intelligence shows when your child loves words, both spoken and written. When a child has this type of intelligence, they love stories and fairy tails. They also tend to grasp reading, writing and talking and are able to learn new languages better.

As they get older, they become proficient at interviewing, writing school papers and telling stories. Their education can be through the contemporary school system, as they tend to focus on this type of intelligence.

Which professions are good for these children? Writer, scriptwriter, playwright, journalist, politician, proofreader, translator/interpreter.

Logical-Mathematical

If your child is passionate about number, they fall in this category. THey typically love solving math problems, accounting and anything having to do with numbers. They tend to do well at finding cause-and-effect relationships.

Which professions are good for these children? Mathematician, accountant, IT specialist, analyst, scientist, detective, logistician, medic.

Visuar-Spatial

If children tend to spend their time playing with motionless or wooden toys, they may fall into the category. They love puzzles and mazes and frequently have imaginary friends. They tend to daydream, have good imaginations and love to draw.

As they get older, they are good at memorizing places and tend to do well at geometry, physics and chemistry. They can look at the space around them and transform it in their minds.

Bodily-kinesthetic

Many people don’t realize that the body is an important indicator in determining intelligence. Children who fall into this category tend to convey their feelings through movement, such as dance. They tend to be pulled toward exercise and sports and are typically healthy and strong.

The motor skills of children in this category may be highly developed, The like working with their hands and are not afraid to perform. They also tend to feel failure to a deeper level and need both praise and support.

Musical

If your child has a musical ear and a strong sense of rhythm, they may be in the musical category. As they get older, they tend to have an interest in musicians and may listen to lout music. Playing an instrument will bring great pleasure. They may get on people’s nerves because they tap to the beat without thinking of it.

These children tend to be focused more on the world around them. They love everything about nature, including animals. They also enjoy experimenting with plants and watching them grow. Teenagers tend to be good at biology, chemistry and environmental studies.

Intrapersonal

These children tend to understand their feelings and control them for the most part. They are also able to hold discussions and come up with reasonable ideas. The do, however, tend to be timid and emotionally closed. As adults, they may struggle with issues involving life and death and tend to be interested in philosophic works.

Interpersonal

These children tend to communicate more than others and know how to influence other people to like them. They were born to negotiate. As teenagers, they usually have a lot of friends because of their good communication skills and sense of humor.

Which professions are good for these children? Politician, pedagogue, public speaker, negotiator, diplomat, manager, director, business coach.
