I’m not afraid to admit it, I absolutely love to sleep! When it comes time to hitting the sheets at night, I am the first one there and many times, the last one to get up in the morning. My sleeping motto is, the more comfortable, the better, but now things have gone to the next level.
In an effort to help all of us sleep in comfortable perfection, this big, black bear sleeping bag has been created. Any way you look at it, it is absolute sleeping perfection and I can only imagine how great it feels to crawl into it at night and drift off into a peaceful slumber.

This masterful sleeping creation, known as the “Great Sleeping Bear” is the brainchild of Japanese artist, Eiko Ishizawa. Just as the name would suggest, it is a huge plush bear and you sleep inside of it. After all, it seems as if bears know more about sleeping than most of us so sleeping inside of a cuddly bear can’t be all that bad, can it?
The inspiration for this creation came from a real-life bear that was causing difficulties in the Italian Alps in 2006. Eventually, that bear was hunted down.

Ishizawa wrote this about the project…
“By having the experience of transitional discoveries like finding a bear, realizing a little human face in his mouth, and recognizing details and shape of this commodity, I attempt to create this work as to be a medium for audiences to generate one’s transitional perceptions and fantasies in reality,”

Having the opportunity to sleep in such rare comfort does come with a cost. That cost is $2350, but if you can afford it and it helps you sleep, the price is certainly right!
