Students Buy This Teacher A Pair Of Vans And He Can’t Contain His Excitement

There are many rewards to being a teacher and, at times, you may even experience a surprise or two. That was the case with a teacher named Taylor Kirby, who teaches psychology classes to high school students. Like many teachers, he had something amusing to say on the opening day of school when he complimented the children on their new shoes.

Mr. Kirby went even further and said that he also wanted some shoes. Well, it took a little time but he finally was able to get his wish. It was a total surprise from the students, and it is one that he is likely going to remember for the rest of his life. After you see this video from twitter, you will remember it as well.

The student who posted this video to twitter said that the teacher wouldn’t necessarily buy a pair but the classmates decided to pitch in and buy him the shoes two weeks ago.

The students each pitched in about two dollars to buy the $50 shoes. It took a couple of weeks to get the money together and the shoes were purchased over the weekend.

When the students gave the shoes to Mr. Kirby, it was during the time when they typically share good things that have happened to them.

Kirby was really touched by the gift and said that he had never received anything like it from students before.

Kirby didn’t really expect to be liked after he came to the high school this past year. Many of his friends and family said that they would not want to teach high school because it would be a terrible experience.

In his words, “if kids do suck, my kids don’t.”

He was not aware that the video had gone viral until he found out the next day.

“It’s just some nerdy, weird dude opening shoes, and for some reason, 40,000 people are liking this,” he said. “But if it inspires teachers to be better teachers, and people to be better people, then I’m excited that it’s happening.”
