Wristband Is a Meltdown Detector

As any parent with an autistic child can tell you, meltdowns can certainly be a challenge. Not only are they painful for the individual who is suffering from it, the parents feel the heartbreak associated with it as well. Quite simply, there are no winners when it comes to this type of behavior.

What would you do if you had the opportunity to predict a meltdown before it took place? Would it help you to prevent it from happening? Such a tool may seem like a thing of fantasy, but it may just be a reality for parents in as little as five years. It is a tool known as the bio sensor wristband, and it holds out promise for millions.

As you would expect from a product named the bio sensor wristband, it is worn on the wrist. It measures a number of factors in the child, including the heart rate, skin temperature, sweat production and arm movement. If any of those factors should happen to spike, it could indicate that a meltdown is on the way.

The parents or caretakers of an autistic child could monitor the child through and app, running either on their smartphone or a tablet. If a future meltdown is detected, the child could be removed from the stressful situation that is leading to the problem. You can also monitor the history of the child, identifying trends or triggers that lead to meltdowns as well.

Any child with autism and their caretakers may be helped with this piece of technology, but it is especially helpful for those who have limited speech or are nonverbal. Even though they may not be able to communicate their feelings, this wristband can detect the problem and do the talking for them.

Although this technology can help to detect meltdowns, it is not a magical piece of sci-fi equipment. It still requires a human that does the proper interpretation.

Anyway you look at it, the bio sensor wristwatch is an awesome development. It can help individuals with autism, keep them safe and prevent many problems that are associated with meltdowns.
