There are many things that may be difficult in our lives but one of the most devastating is when we hear that a loved one has cancer. That is especially so when it is a child, and we know that we are about to go through one of the most difficult times that we will ever go through in our lives.
When Michael Bublé and his wife found out that his son had cancer back in 2016, the entire world held their breath. Their son, Noah, was diagnosed with cancer at only three years old. It was a rare type of liver cancer, only affecting one out of every 1 million children. For Noah, it meant a four-month treatment program, and one that his parents were not looking forward to him having. The family did not have much to say about the type of cancer that Noah suffered with. Like many celebrities, they try to stay out of the public eye but more than likely, it was Pediatric Hepatoblastoma.
This is a type of liver cancer that affects children and sometimes, chemotherapy can reduce the size of the tumour. There may also be surgery that is given to remove the part of the liver that is cancerous. Amazingly, the liver is capable of growing back. After surgery, additional chemotherapy is given to ensure that the cancer doesn’t come back again.
The real key to treating this type of liver cancer successfully is to catch it early. The survival rate is as high as 80%, although the cancer could spread to other parts of the body if it is not caught soon enough. When that happens, the prognosis is much worse. When you look at Noah’s status, it is likely that his was caught early enough.
This is just another example of how it is necessary to be vigilant when it comes to our children’s health. This form of pediatric cancer is rare, but there are a few things you should be aware of.

Under-development, or dysplasia, of the mid-face area, and slitlike indentations in the earlobes
In advanced cases of the disease, victims may not be able to eat (anorexia)
Club foot
Kidney anomalies, such as dysplastic kidney or horseshoe kidney
Cleft palate
deformity or under-development of the earlobes, lips, soft palate, and nose

Noah’s Aunt Daniela Lopilato has shared the news that Noah is free of cancer. The news was shared on Argentinian daytime TV. She also said that his diagnosis was liver cancer. As a nutritionist, she is likely quite worried about his health. It will be interesting to see what happens as the family closes this chapter.
