Sir Michael Caine Tells The World His ‘Days Are Numbered’

It seems as if last year was the year when many stars of the stage and screen passed away, but this year seems to be following suit. Recently, Sir Michael Caine has opened up about his health problems and fears. He talks about worrying of the possibility of cancer after he dropped two stones.

Sir Michael Caine is an 84-year-old actor that most of us are familiar with because of his role on the Italian Job. Because of his health concerns, he has now removed all salt, sugar and gluten from his diet. This is in an effort to see his grandchildren when they grow up. He still had a rather troubling admission, however, and that is that he knew his days were numbered. It is a worry for him.

“I’ve had to cut back on the drinking and I’m always looking up what’s the best thing against cancer, so I’ll eat that or do this or not do that.

I’ll probably drop dead talking to you but you know I’ve lost 30lbs just because I want to see my grandchildren. They’re twins of six and a boy of seven. I’d like to get to 17 for the boy.”

He lived rather lavishly but he now credits his 70-year-old wife for helping him to find his good health again.

“I used to drink a bottle of vodka a day and smoke several packs of cigarettes. Without her I’d have been dead long ago.”

Previously, Sir Michael Caine expressed support for voluntary euthanasia. He admitted that he hastened his father’s death when he was suffering from liver cancer, asking doctors to provide his father with a fatal overdose.

Kane has just finished working on his 163rd film, Going in Style.
