The world can be a very difficult place to live. We never quite know what is going to happen from one day to the next, and you should ask any parent about the fear that they have for their children.
In most cases, the fear is unwarranted but every once in a while, we hear about a child that is in a very difficult place. That was the case with a 12-year-old boy back in 2017.
He was with his family while they were on their way to Disney World. They decided to stop at McDonald’s to grab a bite to eat and the little boy was walking back to his car after leaving the restaurant.
A police officer, Troy Belden was, at the same time, sitting in the drive-through line waiting to pick up some chicken nuggets. He was scanning the parking lot when something grabbed his attention and he knew we had to act right away.
An older man that was acting ‘really bizarre’ was following behind the child. Troy suddenly realized that the child was in danger and the boy was trying to get away.
Suddenly, Troy watched as the boy opened the car door and jumped in the back seat to start screaming. The strange man was right there, lunging into the car with what is described as a Superman dive and trying to grab the boy and his brother.
When the police officer saw the father of those two children fighting with the attacker, he decided that something had to be done. He announced that he was a police officer and then when the man tried to escape, the police officer did something about it.
