The London landscape is about to get a serious upgrade, with a £2billion themepark slated to open its doors in 2021. This themepark is Disneyland style and it possibly could rival the scale of Disneyland Paris.
This new park is to be built on the Swanscombe Peninsula in Kent. It will be twice the size of the Olympic Park and will be known as the London Paramount Entertainment Resort. Estimates are that up to 50,000 tourists per day will come to the attraction. Not only will it contain a large indoor waterpark, it will have a live music venue, restaurants, cinemas, theaters, and event space and over 5000 hotel rooms.
Attraction: Developers have unveiled plans to build one of the biggest theme parks in the world in Britain. The £2billion, 872-acre entertainment complex will create an estimated 27,000 jobs
Expected to open in 2021, the resort will feature a waterpark, themepark, large theater and cinema.
There are some hints of the attraction available in the plans. The detailed sketches include Star Trek emblems on the rides.
The resort will include a Star Trek themed land, and the emblem will be visible on one of the rides.
Kuwait’s Al-Humaidi family is financing the themepark, which is sure to include attractions themed around Paramount pictures and BBC worldwide shows.
Some of the different films that could be featured in the park include the Godfather and Mission impossible. Cutting a deal with BBC may mean that some of the largest television characters may also have a spot, including Dr. Who.
There have been a number of delays since this themepark was proposed, including planning application setbacks. There has also been some opposition from companies, including the industrial estate that needs to be cleared for the attraction.
Meetings were held with local residents last year and construction is set to begin in 2018. It will create up to 27,000 jobs for the area. It will also boost tourism, not only to London but to other areas on the outskirts as well.
There are images on the London Paramount website showing how the area could look.

A number of themed areas will be included in the themepark, with rides and attractions.

The proposed site is currently an overgrown wasteland
In February, there were additional setbacks due to an over statement of cash assets. The London resort company was said to have holdings of £291,000 but they only had £952.
There are additional concerns over how the area will deal with the increase of tourists. There are complaints that beds are difficult to come by already.
The park is located near the Ebbsfleet International station. It is on the Eurostar route between London and Paris.
According to the website, the park will include exciting rides and attractions for families, children and the more adventurous thrill-seeking visitor.
