Deaf Woman Hears Herself for the First Time

Sarah Churman was born in Texas with a rare genetic deformity. She started using a hearing aid at the age of 2, but it was not enough to hear her own voice or any clear sound.

In the Youtube video below uploaded by Sloan Churman in 2011, Sarah’s husband, she heard herself for the first time in her life.

Thanks to the Esteem hearing implant using Microsoft technology and offered by Envoy Medical, Sarah now hears herself after 29 years.

Sarah’s hearing implant reportedly costs $30,000. That’s cheap for a lifetime happiness.
