Although there have been many personalities who have captured our attention over the years, it’s difficult to ignore Steve Irwin when you consider all of them. Many of us use to turn into The Crocodile Hunter every week and we can remember Irwin and his unique personality. He was someone who was difficult not to love, and his love for the animals in the world around him certainly showed in everything that he did.
Not only was Steve Irwin a star on his own wildlife documentary series, he was also a devoted husband and father. His daughter, Bindi, has followed in his footsteps and even had her own documentary series. She has also honoured her father through a number of TV specials and is perhaps known most recently for her appearance on Dancing with the Stars. When you see this young woman, who has grown up before our eyes, it is difficult to believe the transformation.
1. Bindi is the daughter of Steve and Terri Irwin. They were both wildlife experts and were on TV frequently to educate people about wildlife in Australia.
2. Bindi first started to appear on those TV shows along with her parents when she was only 2 years old
3. As she was growing up, she stayed close to her father. She was even named after his favourite female crocodile at the Australia zoo.
Her middle name, Sue, was shared by the family dog.

4. Bindi was a born natural when it came to the camera. She enjoyed being on The Crocodile Hunter Diaries and The Wiggles
5. She even hosted her own TV show, Bindi In the Jungle. It was a 26 part documentary on wildlife for children
6. Her father passed away in 2006 and she gave a eulogy for her father in front of 5000 people. It was also broadcast to a worldwide audience that included over 300 million viewers.
She wrote the speech herself
7. Bindi started a career in music. She made a child fitness DVD where she danced with the group while singing.
8. She also recorded a hip-hop album, Trouble in the Jungle. She did so with her backup band, Bindi and the Crocmen. They appeared together on The Today Show.
At the time, she was also learning the piano.
9. She scored her first starring role in 2010 for Free Willy: Escape from Pirates Cove
10. She also appeared in Return to Nim’s Island where she ended up with a leading role.
She has already done so much with her life
11. Bindi may have been doing films, but she never lost her love for wildlife. She was awarded the Young Conservationist of the Year by the Australian geographic Society in 2014
12. She got a call one year later that changed her life. She would now be on Dancing with the Stars
13. Her partner was Derek Hough and they won the competition
She did an amazing tribute dance for her father
14. Although she tends to be quiet about her personal life, she did open up about her boyfriend, Chandler Powell
“I’m really happy with our relationship and I think we’ll just continue to have fun.”
15. In recent news, she has been named one of MAXIM’s 100 hottest Australians. She posted photos to her Instagram to share the news.
