Alex Pring received his new prosthetic arm created through the use of a 3-D printer, for a very affordable price of $350.
Alex is a 6 years old boy from Groveland, Florida, and was born without a right arm. His family has been struggling to find a cheaper solution for their child, which usually costs $40,000.
Then, a group of students at the University of Central Florida (UCF) led by Albert Manero offered to help them. The team spent 7 weeks to complete a prototype of Alex’s 3-D printer prosthetic arm.
High five!
