Marlow and Fran Cowan became an Internet sensation back in September 2008, when they played an impromptu piano recital together at a Mayo Clinic branch in Rochester, Iowa.
The elderly couple has been married for 62 years at that time. Another patient took the video of them while playing the piano to the tune of “Old Grey Bonnet.”
Marlow Cowan was then 90 years old, but he and his wife still managed to exchange places while playing the piano with enthusiasm.
In February 2010, Mayo Clinic invited Marlow and Fran to perform again.
