The Leads On The Big Bang Theory Just Took Pay Cuts So The Female Co-Stars Make More

The Big Bang Theory is one of the longest running sitcoms in the history of television and many of us have watched it since the very first season in 2007. The members of the cast are fantastic to watch and they just seem to play off of each other perfectly. It seems that they are also quite nice, and the 5 leading stars are taking pay cuts so that 2 of their other workmates can get raises.

The 5 cast members who are taking pay cuts are Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Kunal Nayyar and Simon Helberg. They are taking a $100k pay cut from their $1 million per episode salaries for seasons 11 and 12. This is to help boost the salaries of Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik.

Bialikk, who plays Sheldon’s girlfriend, Amy earned 4 Emmy nominations for her part on the show. Rauch and Bailik came on the show in the third season and they only make about $200k per episode. Contract negotiations are coming up shortly.

This move by their co-stars could put them up to around $450k per episode, stretched over 48 upcoming episodes. They may, however, be seeking parity with the other stars.

It was recently reported that the 5 original cast members would make $1 million per episode for the possible final two seasons. The show still stands at number 1 for comedy for 18-49 year olds.

Parsons, Galecki and Cuoco were the first to get the $1 million per episode contracts in 2014. It made them the highest-paid comedy actors on TV. With over 20 million viewers per episode, it is easy to see why.
