Mom With Fussy Baby Gets Up To Leave Olive Garden Then A Kind Server Stops Her

Our world tends to change a lot when we have children. Before we have kids, it seems as if we are footloose and fancy-free and then once children enter into the picture, we struggle to be able to maintain any resemblance of a normal life. Every once in a while, however, we do what we can in order to get back to normal and this may include packing the kids up and taking them out for the evening.

It can be a struggle when we have children and we try to eat out. We tend to be optimistic and feel that we will get through our meal but unfortunately, the usual scenario is that our meal is served and immediately, the children start to get fussy. That was what one woman experienced, but fortunately, she had an angel on her side. That Angel was Nianni Rudder and she worked at the Olive Garden in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Courtney Pedigo was a 24 year old mother who decided to go out to eat with her 18-month-old daughter, Harlynn. Her father and stepmother were also with her at the restaurant. They figured the little girl would sit still, if not for her mother at least for somebody else in the group.

Unfortunately, the little girl just did not want to sit down. She didn’t want in a highchair and she was fussy in anyone’s lap. She was restless during the entire meal and the young mother decided that she would get her meal in a box to go and eat out in the car.

The 21-year-old hostess was not about to allow that to happen.

“She came out to enjoy a meal with her family, and she should be able to do that. I didn’t think she had to leave or go sit in the car to eat the food because her baby was fussy. They’re little kids, that’s just what they do.”

The server did something that nobody expected she would do. She got a bowl of caramel ice cream and a spoon and sat there to feed the little girl so the rest of the family could enjoy their meal. She doesn’t have her own children but she does care for her three-year-old niece. She knew exactly what to do.

“If that’s all I had to do was sit down and take a couple moments to help this young lady with her baby, I’d do it every day if I could,” she added.

This was an act of kindness that was above and beyond the call of duty. Courtney would not allow it to go without recognizing what this kind woman did. She went on Facebook to describe the experience and said that the waitress would “never truly know how appreciative I am for tonight.”
