There are many things that we may enjoy life and sometimes, it tends to be the little things that really mean a lot to us. One of the things that we may enjoy is indulging in an adult beverage on occasion. For example, what can be better than coming in after a difficult day when it is boiling hot outside and enjoying a nice, cold beer? It is one of life’s little pleasures but it is one that many of us appreciate when the time is right. Then again, the time might always be right after you hear this story.
Imagine if you had the opportunity to enjoy a beer on an ongoing basis each and every day of your life. You might think that it is something that you would want to avoid but for one man, it was just what he needed. Aside from the fact that you wouldn’t want to sustain yourself on beer 24 hours a day because it could be hard on your liver, if you follow the rules properly, it may just be what you needed.
I’d like to introduce you to Del Hall, an American man who decided to go against the grain and enjoy beer for 46 days. In fact, he did more than just enjoying beer, he only drank beer for those 46 days and ended up losing 44 pounds at the same time.
It started on March 6 and lasted through for the following 46 days. Del Hall, from Ohio, lived on beer and had no other food during that time. It seems that he wasn’t even the first person that did it. 18th-century monks in German Bavaria provided the inspiration he needed to begin this rather strange diet.
Del stayed on his diet for the entire 46 days without cheating one time. He gave up food entirely and had nothing but beer.
“I’m feeling great! I went from 292.5 to 248.5. I lost 44 pounds. Not a single cheat! I plan to continue to lose weight through a protocol of intermittent fasting and portion control,” he said.

This is a rather convenient diet for Del because he works for Fifty West in Cincinnati, Ohio, a brewing company. Even though he drank beer for so many weeks, he still loves it.
When a Swedish news station asked him if he was ready to give up drinking beer, he said: “No, I really love beer and I will never tire of beer. When I ate my first meal after the diet, I washed down everything with beer.”
Typically, he would get his day started in the morning with a little water and then anywhere from 2-5 beers would be consumed every day.
“I normally have my first beer some time in the afternoon and I might have one whenever I’m feeling a bit peckish. The majority of the beers I’m drinking are at home. When I get home at night I might have two to three beers at the house and that’s pretty much a typical day,” he said.

Del was able to lose a considerable amount of weight during his beer fast but he doesn’t recommend that everybody follow the same regimen.
“I wouldn’t encourage others to try. There are probably other, better ways to lose weight that are healthier.”
