Jibo: World’s First Family Robot

Meet Jibo, the world’s first family robot. And yes, he’s a real robot.

Created by Cynthia Breazeal of MIT Media Lab, Jibo stands 11 inches tall and weighs about six pounds, and is wirelessly connected to the Internet.

Launched in July 2014, Jibo can see, hear, take pictures, track faces, recognize where sound is coming from.

The robot in the promotional video below is only a prototype. Initial release of Jibo is set to December 2015, but you can now place your orders.

Currently, Jibo costs $499 to consumers and $599 to developers.

Welcome to the future!
