Taking a look back to the 1960s, we have a number of television shows that were popular. One of them was My Three Sons, and there was a young girl named Dodie in the sitcom.
Actress Dawn Lyn played Dodie on the show. She was the real-life sister of Leif Garrett, the teen heartthrob. Many people don’t realize that she had undergone brain surgery late in 2022 and fell into a coma.
Another star of the show, Tina Cole, received a call out of the blue recently, and she is referring to it as a miracle. In speaking with Fox News, she said she saw a call from her number and expected bad news from her husband, John.
Cole went on to say: “I was in an indoor soccer game for my grandson and I could hardly hear. I stepped outside and was stunned. I heard her voice. It was raspy, but it was her. I just said, ‘Dawn, is that really you?’ She said, ‘Yes, it’s really me.’ The tears just came. I was in shock. And it was just so wonderful. I couldn’t believe it.”
She talked about the last time she saw Dawn. It was in the neurological rehab unit, and she was still unresponsive. She referred to it as being thrilling to hear her voice and called it a Christmas miracle. She even said they were hoping she would be home by Easter.
Leif Garrett, who is 61, also received the news about his sister and confirmed that she was responsive on Facebook.
They were also talking about the support they received from loyal fans and well wishes that were passed along to the family.
Cole said: “Her husband has said the positive feedback made her very happy, and it helped her heal. And I’m just thrilled that there were so many people out there praying and caring about her. I’m a big believer in the strength of prayer.”
She also went on Facebook to talk about the miracle and her friend’s condition. She said she was ‘weak but recovering’ and wouldn’t be sharing any more information at the time.
Her condition before she woke up with shared by Stanley Livingston. He played on the show as her younger brother, Chip Douglas.
Livingston said: “Just found out my little TV Sis’, DAWN LYN (Dodie), is in a COMA and fighting for her life,” he wrote on Facebook. “She had surgery recently to remove a brain tumor. Please pray for her to have a swift and full recovery. I took Dawn out to lunch a couple of months ago. We had a great time reminiscing about our MTS days. Dawn is one of the nicest human beings I have ever known. Thoughts and prayers also go out to her husband, John, at this time. This is devastating news!”
“She remains unconscious battling meningitis,” the 72-year-old also wrote. “Her vitals and brain waves are good. The doctors and nurses are aggressively fighting the bacterial infection. They’re optimistic.”
It is so nice to hear this good news.
