Mothers often get the majority of the credit when it comes to raising the children. After all, they tend to have a softer side and the fathers are typically in the background being the “enforcer.”
As you will see, however, you cannot always judge things by what typically takes place! A recent Facebook post has gone viral and when you see what it contains, you will understand why.
It was posted by Jason Garmon, a single father that is doing his best to care for his children. When you see what he does for his daughter, Skyler, well… Let me just say you better have some tissues ready.
Skyler’s school was holding a daddy-daughter dance and Jason wanted to teach his children an object lesson. He wanted them to grow up understanding how a woman should be treated. In addition, he didn’t want Skyler to simply go to the dance with him because he was her father, he wanted to SHOW her that he was her father.
As you can see, Jason also had an ability that must have been hiding under the surface. He did get some help from his son, but when he surprised his daughter with a bouquet of flowers, some iced tea in tinted Mason jars and a sign asking her to the dance, it certainly looked as if he had all his ducks in a row…
As you can tell from the picture, it went over quite well and Skyler gave him a big YES! Afterward, the family had a typical southern celebration with some iced tea!
If there was ever a post that deserved to go viral, this one is it. Within 24 hours, it had already been shared 300,000+ times.
“Just because I’m her Dad doesn’t mean I’m going to assume she’ll go with me. You ask out a lady like it’s the first time every time. Always keep her guessing, always try to win her. I don’t care if it’s your daughter, your girlfriend or your wife, the day you stop trying is the day you’ll lose her. I had always planned on doing something like this for a woman but I realized the most important female that deserves my attention is already right here beside me. – P.S. She said YES!”
We could all use more of this on our Facebook feed!
