Many of us recognize exactly how much of an honor it is to be adopted by a cat. When we see feral cats out and about, we know that they are not typically ones to get close to strangers but if they do approach you, they must think highly of you.
Throughout the world, there are hundreds of millions of feral cats. Many of them are born outdoors and have very little contact with humans, if they have any contact with humans at all. This overpopulation of feral cats often leads to their demise, but when people step in to make a difference, it truly is a beautiful thing.
Feral cats are not like humans but some will adopt people as their own. One mama cat adopted a woman named Jamie and her boyfriend after they fed her. Since that day, she continues to return for more food but then one day, she came with something much more urgent.
The mama cat brought them her baby! She had a beautiful little ginger boy but Jamie noticed that something was wrong.
“We found him and immediately knew that something was wrong. He would hike his leg up and his hip would jet out real far. We thought maybe his little hip was broken.”
Fortunately, the feral cat knew that she could trust Jamie with the kitten, so she left him with her. Jamie and her boyfriend named him Milo.
After they took him in, they brought him to the vet to find out what was wrong. He had a broken fibula and tibia! Fortunately, it was something that could be fixed with a cast.
Since he was rescued, Milo has stuck by his parents side closely. He is happy to live indoors and to experience all of their love.
Mama, on the other hand, continues to enjoy staying outdoors but she stops by for her daily feedings. Jamie hopes that one day, she’ll join her youngster inside.
