When we think of heroes, most of us think about an adult who is making a difference in the world. The fact of the matter is, however, you don’t need to be grown up to make such a difference. In fact, an 11-year-old boy named Ken, who lives in the Philippines, is making that point quite perfectly.
Although he is only 11 years old, he started his own animal shelter, known as The Happy Animals Club. In fact, he started it when he was only eight years old and in the past few years, he has received support from around the world. He has saved many animals, but some stand out more than others. This is his story.
11-year-old Ken started a no kill animal shelter known as The Happy Animals Club. He was only eight years old when he founded that organization and thanks to donations that have come in from around the world, he’s able to help many animals.
This dog named Hyena was frightened, starving and suffering from mange when she came to Ken.
Now she looks like a brand-new dog!
Ken is not only interested in rescuing dogs, this cat was hungry and full of fleas when she joined the Happy Animals Club
This is that cat after Ken cleaned, fed and provided some TLC.
A few years ago, Ken took in a group of abandoned puppies. He didn’t expect all of them to survive because they were in poor health.
Ken got the puppies medication, fed them, cleaned them up and named them after famous scientists. A year later and they’re doing fantastic! This is Bohr, named after Niels Bohr
This one is Einstein and he is posing for an awesome photograph.
Newton is calm and collected
Pascal is the smallest of the group and is names after polymath Blaise Pascal
Plank, who is named for Max Plank the physicist is the only female in the group.
This is Tesla, named after inventor Nikola Tesla. He tends to be a little rambunctious. He also is a great escape artist.
Ken has worked some fantastic miracles, especially considering his age.
