At 7 Feet Tall – Freddy The Great Dane Is The Biggest Dog In The World

If there is one thing that most of us recognise about dogs, it’s the fact that no two of them are alike. Not only do they have unique personalities, they also come in all shapes and sizes. Some of them are little, and can almost fit in the palm of your hand and then there’s Freddy, the biggest dog in the world.

When Claire Stoneman brought Freddie home, she knew he was going to be a big dog. After all, Great Danes are some of the biggest dogs, and the average male may stand 33 inches tall at the shoulders. Freddy, on the other hand, surprised everyone. Although there is no such thing as a small Great Dane, they are all smaller than him.

This huge dog was recognised officially as the biggest dog in the world by the Guinness Book of World Records.

He is over 200 pounds and when he stands on his hind legs, he is 7 feet tall.

She treats Freddy and his sister, Fluer, as if they were her children. They get fed plenty of their favourite snacks, peanut butter on toast and whole roasted chickens. Her grocery bill is over $15,000 per year and he also chewed up 23 sofas as a puppy.

“I’d come home and find a sea of foam across the floor. But he’s my baby and I can’t imagine life without him.”

Today, the record breaker is happy just to nap on the sofa rather than eating it. Along with feeding them a huge amount of food, she adjusted her schedule to take him on his 40 minute daily walk.

They leave home early in the morning when other dogs are unlikely to be out and about. After all, if Freddy decided to take off, there is little she could do about it.

Freddy loves to cuddle and he seems quite happy to be the biggest dog in the world.
