Dad Is Reluctant To Get A Dog For His Kids So He Drafts A Contract

There is a lot of responsibility that goes along with having a family dog. It is often the children who are asking for the dog but when it is time to take care of the animal, it is usually the parents who must shoulder the majority of the responsibility.

It looks as if one father recognized the this could be a serious problem, so he drew up a contract for his children. They continued to ask hem for a dog, so the 13 point contract needed to be signed and they needed to stick by the terms.

As you look down through the terms of the contract, you may have your doubts if they are actually going to be followed to the letter. For one thing, it said that the dad did not ever pick up any poop, but were not so sure if it was followed to the letter of the law.

Update: 2 weeks after the contract was signed, they got a fluffy white mutt from a shelter that weighed 15 pounds. He doesn’t shed or drool and was already house trained.

His name is Kershaw. The kids have been good about taking care of the dog and have followed most of the terms of the contract.

No indoor messes have occurred to date, as he eats dry dog food from Trader Joe’s. Everyone, including the dad, loves the dog and he is a wonderful addition to the family.

After sharing the picture of Kershaw online, he got a few interesting comments.
