Pit Bull Is Saved By A Hero After Being Stranded In Floodwaters For 16 Hours

Floods are one of the most devastating natural disasters, and in the state of Louisiana, they have been having an impact on tens of thousands of people. So far, at least 40,000 homes have been impacted and 30,000 people needed to be rescued. Unfortunately, 11 people have also died and somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000 pet have been rescued.

There is a lot of destruction going on in the area, but there are also many people who have proven themselves to be a true hero to those in need. That would include rescuers, such as Darrell Watson and Mike Anderson. They ride through the floodwaters, looking for signs of life so that they can save it. They have saved a combined total of almost 100 lives, both human and animal.

Recently, Darrell and Mike found 2 pit bulls struggling to survive in the floodwaters. They had likely been there for up to 16 hours!

Not only did these two individuals save those pit bulls, they have also volunteered to foster them. After all, the animal shelters are likely to full to hold any more animals.

You can see the story in the pictures below.

“Baton Rouge got flash floods this morning going from dry land to 8 [ft.] of water in people’s houses within [two hours]! Extremely bad situation.

Out the corner of my eyes, I [saw] a bush shaking! This is all I saw! Eyes and nose barely above water. She could barely tread water anymore. She was so worn out and had the saddest eyes I [had] ever seen. So scared for her life! We saved her, and she came [to lie] her head on my lap, and cried and moaned like a big baby! She was thanking me.

I thank God for letting me notice her. We then rescued a vet and his animals, and she went with them to dry land.”
