A puppy was rescued after it was trapped in an underground pipe outside Detroit.
On February 9, 2012 the Michigan Humane Society (MHS) received a call: a four-week-old puppy fell in an underground pipe and has managed to crawl down.
Chris Ouwerkerk of the MHS and his team dug and dismantled the pipe, and called for reinforcements. They used an excavator to rescue the puggle/dachshund mix puppy.
After nine hours, the rescuers found the poor puppy about five feet below the ground. The trapped puppy was eventually reunited with the owner.
