The life of a shelter dog can be lonely and depressing. They sit around and wait for a forever human to come and pick them up but now at least one shelter is doing something about it. They are taking them out for a cup of coffee to make them feel better!
Molly Clark is the volunteer at the shelter and she takes the dogs to Starbucks for a Puppuccino. Before you get upset about dogs having too much dairy or coffee, it is a treat made for dogs and it is just a little bit of whipped cream.
Not only do they get out of the shelter, they enjoy a car ride and they absolutely love the experience! Molly tries to select dogs that will not be stressed out from the ride, but even if they are unable to go, she will bring Puppuccinos back for the dogs at the shelter.
The volunteers at this shelter do their part to make sure that each dog gets individualized attention and care. The local Starbucks also makes sure they post signs of the dog of the week, helping to ensure they find a forever home.
The Kitsap Humane Society in Washington takes their dogs for a “dog coffee” to make them feel better.
Molly Clark, one of the volunteers, takes a dog to Starbucks for a Puppuccino every Tuesday.
The dogs get a chance to get out for a while and enjoy a car ride.
Molly says they love it! She only selects dogs that will not be stressed out from the experience.
The volunteers and staff members go to great lengths to ensure that each animal receives the individual care they need.
Molly will even bring Puppuccinos back to the shelter for dogs who can’t leave
The Puppuccino Pals program was established in April and the dogs are featured on Instagram
“[We use] the adorable pictures of them lapping up yummy whipped cream to give them exposure on social media to potential adopters!”
The Starbucks also posts information about the dog of the week to help them find a home.
