A Kangaroo Is Rescued And She Displays Her Gratitude In The Best Way Every Morning

What is the first thing that pops into your mind when you think of Australia? Some people will think about the skyline of Sydney or perhaps they may envision throwing a “shrimp on the barbie.” Near the top of the list, if not at the top of the list for many people, is the kangaroo. They are native to Australia and these wonderful animals are not often given the credit that they deserve.

As far as marsupials are concerned, the kangaroo is probably the most famous worldwide. It certainly is the most famous marsupial in Australia but it is their hind legs that really provide them with some celebrity status. Those hind legs are extremely strong and they can propel the kangaroo up to 30 feet through the air with a single bound. A kangaroo can even travel up to 30 miles an hour!

A newborn kangaroo is known as a Joey and they are carried in the pouch of the mother. A kangaroo will stamp the ground with their feet when they feel threatened and they will also use their hind legs to kick. It is not unusual for a kangaroo to bite to an opponent.

Not all kangaroos are aggressive and some are simply happy to be living life. At the Kangaroo Sanctuary Alice Springs, there is one kangaroo who is especially loving.

Her name is Abigail, and she is a 10-year-old female. Since she was a baby, she has called the sanctuary her home. She is so happy that she was rescued that she gives her owners a hug every day.

The handlers have been enjoying hugs for years and since she arrived 10 years ago, she has become Queen of the Sanctuary
